Our Beliefs
The Healing Way is a Christian organization grounded in the historic Christian faith. Our beliefs shape our mission, values, leadership and understanding of healing and restoration. At the same time, our programs are open to people regardless of their religious beliefs or background. Participants are not required to share or affirm our Statement of Faith in order to receive support or participate in our programs. We seek to serve every person with dignity, compassion, humility and respect.
-
The Bible — Scripture is inspired by God, trustworthy and the final authority for Christian faith and life.
-
The Trinity — One God eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
God the Father and Creation — God created all things, created humanity in His image and every person therefore possesses inherent dignity and worth.
-
Humanity and Sin — Humanity was created for relationship with God, but sin has broken our relationship with God, ourselves, one another and creation.
-
Jesus Christ — Fully God and fully human; conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, died for our sins, bodily rose from the dead, ascended to heaven and will return.
-
Salvation — Salvation is by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not something we earn through works.
-
The Holy Spirit — The Holy Spirit indwells believers, transforms us, comforts us, empowers us and produces spiritual growth.
-
The Church — All believers comprise the body of Christ and are called to worship God, love one another, make disciples and serve the world.
-
Restoration and Healing — This is especially important for The Healing Way. God's redemptive work brings reconciliation and restoration. Because we live in a broken world, Christians still experience suffering, grief, trauma and loss; faith should never be used to minimize those experiences.
-
Human Dignity and Compassion — Every person bears God's image and should be treated with dignity, compassion, kindness, humility and respect.
-
Resurrection and Eternal Life — Christ will return, the dead will be raised and God will ultimately make all things new.
